Einmal um die Welt

A global and ambitious company, such as Zemanta, needs global and ambitious people to thrive and succeed. Slovenia, as pleasant as it might be, is not the land where many globally minded live so to expand people's horizons it is essential to send them abroad and expose them to new approaches and ways of thinking. In my experience, one of the best ways how to achieve that is to send people to conferences so they can see for themselves how surprisingly small our beloved Earth really is. Zemanta's product and engineering team consists of more than twenty people now. We'll send all of them to at least one conference abroad, so expect to find Zemanteers all over the world. We will be in Austin, Texas for SXSW in March, in London and New York for QCon conferences, in Budapest for Craft conference, and in Berlin first for Buzzwords, then for EuroPyton, and in the last days of 2014 also for Chaos Communication Congress. Another popular conference with Zemanta crowd is Velocity so we'll attend this conference in New York, Santa Clara, and Barcelona. Since our products are tightly integrated with WordPress we plan to attend WordCamps in San Francisco and London as well as co-organize one ourselves in Ljubljana. We also plan to mingle with many mom bloggers at BlogHer conference in San Jose, California. Our data and integration specialists will travel to New York to attend KDD and Strata conferences, while our more front-end inclined colleagues will enjoy Paris in December attending dotJS. We will also Mind the Product in London and learn about Ad:tech in New York. If you plan to attend any of these conferences also yourself, get in touch, so that we don't just bump accidentally at far away places as is so often the case. And to add some spice to the travel fever that I hopefully created with this post, here's the favorite song of my daughters as of lately. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u2pySXCmwpc
