What a year for Tomaž! It was only seven months ago when I broke the news that Vox.io is closing and yesterday he was standing on the stage of one of the most prestigious start-up competitions in the world receiving the Disrupt Cup and $50,000! Convincing the panel of judges that included Michael Arrington, Chris Dixon, and Marissa Mayer that a start-up with large part of its roots in Slovenia is better than any of thousands of Silicon Valley start-ups is on par only to a Slovenian movie director winning an oscar (in the best movie category not in the exotic category of best foreign language film). Congratulations once more to Tomaž, Anže, Janin, Klemen, Rok, and the rest of the team! We're also very proud at Zemanta that we had these cool guys squatting in our offices this spring after the collapse of Vox.io and before Layer was fully f(o)unded.
