Over the past 15 years web search has become a 20 billion dollars industry. But web has evolved in this time and consequently also the web search is going through some big changes at the moment. Social recommendations are gaining in importance, mobile is rising, and Google is no longer just a proxy, but increasingly also a destination. Implications for users, content creators, SEO industry (including Zemanta), and Google itself will be momentous.
