I'm very pleased to announce that my call to action from two months ago has borne fruit. Me and some cool young people will organize the first Slovenian CoderDojo on Saturday, 2nd of June, 2012. The event will take place in the morning of that day at Zemanta office. Since we are doing it for the first time, we have no idea, how it will turn out, except that I'm pretty sure, we'll have a lot of fun.
This post is about you spreading the word that we are looking for kids aged 7 to 18 eager to learn some web and game programming that would like to participate in this inaugural event. For the kids younger than 12 years old company of their parents is required, while for the older kids company of parents is only greatly appreciated (especially if parents can also double as mentors). Please apply by a comment to this post or by emailing me to firstname.lastname@example.org.
In addition we are looking for mentors interested in teaching cool kids about joys of programming. Mentors and interested parents will meet on Friday, 18th of May at 16:00 at Tivoli Pub in order to discuss the event outline and check the space. I very much hope you'll join us.
