The real winners of the fight between Internet and Old media are the politicians

The Senate's side of the Capitol Building in DC. SOPA/PIPA is on the ropes. Senator Reid postponed a vote on the Senate's version of the bill next Tuesday, and MPAA CEO Chris Dodd is backtracking and humbled. Yay. We did it, or nearly have.


From the European perspective, we can only be envious of the democracy they have in the USA (even flawed one). In Europe, big government doesn't need campaign contributions since our representatives are not elected and therefore there is no need to spend money on campaigns. As a consequence, big government can fraternitize with big corporations without any scrutiny of the public.
